When Caitlin studied consumer behavior as part of her undergraduate degree, she realised two things. One was that she wanted to work in a field where she could make a positive impact on people’s lives. The second was understanding people’s needs and motivations was key to making that happen.
Becoming a Portfolio Manager brought those two threads together. Caitlin’s goal is to help her clients better manage their investments and enhance their wealth. She has a particular passion for working with women and has established herself as a trusted advisor to help her clients feel confident about their finances and secure in their wealth.
“The question I’m most often asked is – ‘Am I going to be okay?’. The answer requires both analysis and understanding,” says Caitlin. “Showing my clients that their financial goals are well within reach, or helping them make good decisions in complex situations, enables me to truly partner with them to achieve their goals.”
A member of the Newport team since 2012, Caitlin is the proud founder Newport’s NextWave program, which educates the children and grandchildren of current clients on financial literacy. Being a mom of three young children, Caitlin knows the importance of establishing good money management habits early and understanding the responsibility of wealth. Caitlin graduated from the University of Guelph with an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree, with a speciality in Marketing and Consumer Behaviour. She is also a CFA® charterholder.
When not in the office, Caitlin wears her other hat as a wife and mom. From riding bikes to mending scraped knees, Caitlin believes in the importance of balancing her family’s needs and work priorities.
