Associate Portfolio Manager
As an Associate Portfolio Manager at Newport Private Wealth, Emad works closely with clients and advisors to support the day-to-day details that help keep wealth plans moving forward. He brings a thoughtful, service-driven approach to his work, with a focus on clear communication, steady follow-through, and helping clients feel informed and confident in the decisions they are making.
Emad’s interest in wealth management grew from personal experience. After studying political science at Western University, he became increasingly aware of how difficult financial decisions can feel when people do not have the right guidance or a clear understanding of the options available to them. That perspective led him into the industry, where he began building his foundation in client service and investment planning at Scotiabank.
He went on to serve in a Financial Associate role at CIBC before joining Newport in June 2022, bringing with him a strong understanding of both investment administration and the importance of helping clients protect what they have built. He holds the Chartered Investment Manager designation and completed additional coursework through the Canadian Securities Institute, including Derivatives Fundamentals and Options Licensing Course, Conduct and Practices, and the Canadian Securities Course.
At Newport, Emad supports clients through the ongoing financial decisions that require both care and clarity. He believes trust and transparency are essential to strong client relationships and helping clients understand not just the strategy, but the reasoning behind it. “Our goal is to minimize risk and provide our clients with peace of mind,” he says. “That can only happen when clients feel fully informed about how their money is being managed.”
Emad lives in Waterloo with his wife and two daughters. Outside of work, he enjoys soccer, basketball, and tennis, and looks forward to one day combining family travel with a trip to Wimbledon—after a stop at Disneyland.
